These celestial beauties are now in @redrocks2011 with the lovely Claire and her shop full of the most magical treats ✨️🍄🌙I never leave her shop empty-handed (see last pics of my little haul!)
I will be making more of these, but these take so much time just for 1 pair because each leaf and flower is done using a needle and I tend to have about 10 pairs on the go at once to keep things spicy, so as I make I will upload onto the website ✌🏼

Sorry I have been lugging everyone, but it's been a rough few weeks, after having a pretty bad episode which seems to have lasted forever, then a crafting accident with a pair of massive scissors being stuck 2 inches in my arm - macrame is no joke! 🤦🏻‍♀️
No munros or hiking, just healing and recovering! Movement is nearly there, so I'm hoping to get back on the adventures soon 🤞🏻 so this is what I have been up to for the past 4 weeks!

Didn't really have a plan on my day off, after doing a few bits to complete for Friday (another exciting announcement coming soon 🤩) I decided to just swtich off and do something without really overthinking it, and hey presto! These floral moons were born. I have only made 2 pairs of these, so will get these on the website on Friday night with a few more other bits 🌙🌼

• How I make a pair of earrings from start to finish •
Decided late last night to play about with some florals, so recorded the process from start to finish 👇🏻
✨️ All my colours are mixed using the primary colour, and clay is conditioned, cut and ready to play with!
✨️ I do all the petals individually, using a rolling tool to shape, then using Mr Pointy to add some detail.
✨️ The petals are arranged on the slab to make lovely flowers, then the earring shapes are cut.
✨️ Once the clay is cooked and cool, they are then sanded to make them nice and smooth.
✨️ Holes are drilled, and then earrings are assembled using hypoallergenic findings!
✨️ I like to hole my earring cards myself - this means the cards can be used for lots of sizes of earrings or multiple earrings!
✨️ Once the earrings are put on the display cards, then they are ready to go to their new homes!

I have been out and about with my jewellery for a couple of years now, and there's a few things I have picked up along the way that have helped with setting up!

⏳️ Practice set up - do a practice run at home. Set it out, see how it looks, and see how long it takes to set up your table! The last thing you want is to rush around at the last minute before the event starts!

🌙 Prep the night before. It may be a thought, but pack everything the night before! I pack everything in the car apart from my jewellery. It saves me time in the morning to concentrate on other things and don't forget anything

🍌 Snacks! Keep hydrated and have lots of snacks to hand! You don't know how busy you will be so might not get to sneak away for a tasty treat!

💕 Think as a customer... What would make your experience better if you went to shop your stall? For example, I now make sure I have always have a mirror so customers can see what their earrings would like like against their skin and hair tone...

🫶🏼 Connect with other stall holders. Set up early so you can have a wonder round before the event starts to check out some of the other makers and artists. I have met some lovely creative people at these markets and love supporting other independent businesses, and I now make a conscious effort to shop small and local whenever I can!

I have loved working with silver metal clay over these past few months to bring something a bit different to my polymerclay pieces!
🤔 What is silver metal clay?
✨️ It consists of extremely fine particles of pure metal (silver or gold), mixed up with a non-toxic organic binder. The binder burns out during firing, leaving you with a pure metal piece! Depending on what kind you use, these can even be hallmarked!
